lyrics

When I hit the stage first time
all nervous as shit
fusion festival - oh - six - two - double - oh - three
I was sweatin' all shaky in a little teepee
ya, hippies on the sidelines trippin' on me
I knew I blew they minds, but, were they really listening
I didn't mind, cause I felt like I
captured a key, that I used to open up
a whole new territory
and I'd be dreamin' up the next years in the back of the seat
back of the bus
back behind a curtain closed up
lost in a journey, so difficult
my heart was spelt
all over half the world
but no I'm back with a core
That I know nobody can welt

And for all of you who continue on your own with open arms
so you learn about those moments that can get us further
it doesn't seem like we've progressed so much 'til we look back
and accept what changes we made, to get us where we're at

So now I'm close to were I started
but I gotta a new outlook
it's like a whole new project and I'm buying
Investing my time in
something that I've been dying
to get my rhymes up in
takin' it in for what it's worth
it's my souls intuition
since I felt my first verse
after school detentioon
after hour weekends
these tracks give me the headroom
to let myself loose without rules
and I remember when it felt so impossible
I'd struggle just to get my words heard
and it ain't the worst
verses would submerse me in a universe
contrary to my own
so I learned to cope

So many friends showed hope
both hands reaching out
lending me a handle when I needed a grab
when I needed someone there, they'd come up to the pad
pass over a warm shoulder when I needed to cry
I learned so many people sided with the way that I felt
so now it's time to shed light
in spite of the strong will
I'm passing by lettin' ya'll know
there's peace in the "B"
hate in the past
future to breathe
and present to grasp

So much glory, with so much fulfillment
Sometimes we have to fall to learn to pick ourselves up

And we all continue on our own, with open arms so
we can learn about those moments, that can get us further
it doesn't seem like we've progressed so much until we look back
and accept what changes we made, to get us where we're at

So much glory, with so much fulfillment
Sometimes we have to fall to learn to pick ourselves up
